The conference entitled "La Rete Italiana Ambiente e Salute: le sinergie fra SSN e SNPA per la prevenzione primaria" was held on February 20 in Milan, organized by CCM RIAS (Italian Environment-Health Network), a national collaborative network of experts from the Italian National Health System, ARPA structures and Universities.

The main purpose of the meeting was to review the possible synergies between the SSN - Servizio Sanitario Nazionale (National Health System) and the SNPA - Sistema Nazionale di Protezione Ambientale (National System for Environmental Protection). The Prevention Department of the Veneto Region shared a written contribution on the experience of its territory in terms of environment-health integration, with a passage also concerning the LIFE PHOENIX Project. The meeting was one of the preparatory events for the 2020 National Health and Environment Conference, whose ambitious goal is to guarantee "better health, a healthier environment and sustainable choices". The strategies used include the exchange of knowledge between environmental and health experts for the development of common study tools and working practices, as well as the promotion of coherent and synergic policies based on data evidence.
