The LIFE PHOENIX project receives the monitoring visit from the European Commission

The scheduled monitoring visit from the European Commission took place on Monday 22 June, in order to examine concretely the planning and implementation activities carried out by the partnership for the development of the LIFE PHOENIX project throughout its actions.

Initially planned as a face-to-face meeting, the gathering was then reconfigured in virtual mode via conference call, in consideration of the COVID-19 emergency. During the two intense sessions (morning and afternoon), the project monitor, from EASME - Executive Agency of the European Commission, was able to review the level of detail of the applied actions, as well as the different administrative, managerial and operational problems encountered during the project implementation phase.

With the help of specific presentations and detailed technical documentation, the lead partner referents (Veneto Region) and the project partners managers in charge of the various actions (CNR-IRSA, Arpav, Azienda Zero, UNIPD) intervened to report about the progress of the activities, together with the supporting structures advisors for the LIFE PHOENIX project (e2B Consulting, EURIS, Gruppo Alcuni).

During the working day, the project monitor had the opportunity to directly acquire the confirmations on the expected project time frame (despite the delays caused by the emergency situation), the various technical deliverables produced, the materials and statistics of the dissemination activity, the quality of financial and administrative management.

The information collected through this and other similar monitoring actions could potentially be used at European level to optimize future LIFE programs and calls.
